Whether you're a business owner, supervisor, or new HR professional, having a solid understanding of human resources is essential to your organization's success.
Roane State Workforce Development is pleased to offer the SHRM Essentials of Human Resources program beginning August 6, 2026. Developed in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), this instructor-led course provides practical, real-world training designed to help participants build confidence in managing people and making sound employment decisions.

Throughout the course, you'll build a strong foundation in six essential areas of human resources, including employment law, recruiting and hiring, compensation and benefits, performance management, and employee relations. Each session is designed to provide practical guidance you can put to work immediately.
