Mayor Tony R. Aikens  retired from Law Enforcement in 2016 after serving a total of 39 years. He served as Lenoir City Chief of Police in 1989 and served as Chief Deputy of the Loudon County Sherriff's Office for over 25 years, which made him the longest serving Chief Deputy in the State of Tennessee. He was elected to Lenoir City Council in 2003 & served as Vice-Mayor until he became elected as Mayor in 2010. In 2012, the voters changed the term of Mayor from a 2-year term to a 4-year term. Then in 2017, City Council voted to change the Mayors position from part time to full time. Mayor Aikens is now serving as Lenoir City’s first full time Mayor.
