About
We are a private non-profit agency serving children ages birth-17 who have been severely sexually and/or physically abused. Our services include: therapy, forensic interviews, forensic medicals, court prep and services to drug-endangered children as well as education and support to non-offending caregivers. Our Outreach Programs are school-based. One of those programs serve students in Kindergarten through seventh grades by providing an age-appropriate understanding of safe and unsafe touches, secret keeping and how to tell if something has happened making the child feel unsafe. Also, school-based is our Teen Mom Education/Support group. This program is a 14 week curriculum and is currently provided at two local high schools. We provide training and training opportunities to members of our Child Protective Investigative Team or CPIT on the definition of child abuse, how to serve victims and non-offending caregivers, prevention, prosecution and self-care. Members of the CPIT include: law enforcement, Department of Children's Services, Juvenile Justice, Mental Health, Medical providers and CAC staff.
