Although the program is free to participating families, in order for a county to offer this program to residents, the fee is $25 per child per year. In Loudon County, we have roughly 2100 children in the program. That is a cost of almost $53,000 a year. The Governor's Early Literacy Foundation covers $12.50 of that expense.
