The Loudon County Health Improvement Council (LCHIC) was formed in 1994 by the Community Health Improvement Council.  Until 2012, Health Improvement Councils were a requirement of the Tennessee 3-Star Program.  Tennessee's Three-Star program was designed to help communities take full advantage of economic development opportunities. The goals were to preserve existing employment, create new employment opportunities, increase Tennessee family incomes, improve quality of life and create a strong leadership base.   The 3-Star program has undergone changes during the past years, but still has a health component to it. LCHIC continues to expand its programming and seek new ways to serve the diverse populations of Loudon County, including seniors, children, low income families, faith communities and employers.
